Physical NOT Social Distancing

Spending a majority of your time alone can be a tough situation you anyone, including seniors. The situation with Covid-19 and the need for social distancing has increased the tendency for an older adult to be alone.

Recently, more and more people have referred to this requirement as “physical distancing” rather than “social distancing” which is a more accurate descriptor. Below are some ideas for staying physically distant while remaining socially engaged.

Stay in Contact with family in friends any way that you can if you are unable to be with them physically. Share you’re a meal or event using a video chat application on your phone or computer. It is not the same as being there but it can be enough to help curb the sense of being alone.
